This year marked the 33rd annual art contest sponsored by Keep Lee County Beautiful. Hundreds of entries from local students ranging from elementary school age to high school teenagers were submitted. The illustrations captured a correct environmental action and were judged on artistic expression, originality, and theme.
Congratulations to the first place winners and their schools:
Grade K-3: Blaire Metevia at St. Francis Xavier
Grade 4-6: Julia Humble at North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts
Grade 7-9: Aaliyah Tourgee at Estero High School
Grade 10-12: Jamison Albertorio-Acevedo at Cypress Lake High School
Keep Lee County Beautiful partnered with Waste Pro to enlarge the winning illustrations and post them to the sides of their Lee County trucks. Be on the look out for sightings of the artwork!
There will also be reusable tote bags available in the Fall with the printed artwork. Participating Lee County Schools request a $5 donation that will support on campus environmental projects.
