Come out for Karaoke!

Perhaps you’re trying out for a talent show, or you enjoy singing in the shower or on your way to work. One great way to show off your vocals is to head to a local karaoke venue, such as the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center in Fort Myers. There you can enjoy rooftop karaoke with a panoramic view of downtown Fort Myers and the Caloosahatchee River.

“We host rooftop karaoke every 3rd and 4th Wednesday of every month. The rooftop bar is open from 6 pm to 11 pm, and karaoke runs from 8 pm to 11 pm and is hosted by Manny,” explains Shawn M. Ayotte, Front of House Manager/Operations Director.

Every third Wednesday of the month, karaoke begins after a Wine & Paint session offered inside of the building from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Tickets for Wine & Paint are $45 each and include all supplies and two glasses of wine. Attending Wine & Paint is not required to enjoy and participate in karaoke.

“Rooftop Karaoke Night is a fun night where you can sit back and enjoy the entertainment or sing your heart out with friends and enjoy the fun,” explains Ayotte.

Every fourth Wednesday of the month, the center offers Captiva Karaoke, a regular event sponsored by Captiva Spirits. This karaoke competition is where the winner will win prizes from Captiva Spirits, Florida’s Formula for Vodka.

It's a very laid-back competition, and people can sing as many songs as they want throughout the night. At the end of the night the best performance winner. No sign up is necessary.

The winner is chosen by how entertaining their performance is, along with their vocal and performing talent, skill level, and crowd participation! 1st and 2nd place will receive prizes from Captiva Spirits, and 3rd-6th place will receive a free drink from the art center. The karaoke winners are announced at 10:45 pm.

So, come out and enjoy the fun and sing your heart out! The center is dedicated to bringing world-class art and music events to the community—from concerts to art exhibits to lectures to classes for children and adults—so there’s always something fun going on.
