Woody Brubaker has spent an astounding and productive fifty-seven years in the music business. An accomplished musician on saxophone, clarinet, flute, piano and vocals, he's had the opportunity to perform in a variety of venues from high school and college marching and concert bands, chamber and jazz ensembles to U.S. Air Force Bands. As a multi- instrumental soloist and arranger and composer for U.S. Air Force Bands for eight years, he wrote music for all ensembles and contributed music for several short government promo films (This work earned him two Air Force Commendation Medals). Woody was the first to assemble a vocal group from an Air Force band and compete in the World Wide Air Force Talent Contest. He also organized and arranged for the first show group from an Air Force field band. Woody has composed music for jingles, chamber groups, jazz orchestras and concert band. He has also performed in and arranged music for the show group Sunny Days Revue from Virginia Beach, accompanied many top performers (i.e. Trini Lopez, Bobby Rydel, Jim Baily, Denise Darcel and Steve Lawrence and Eddie Gormé) and entertained as a singer and pianist in his own right with Carnival Cruise Lines and in nightclubs and lounges throughout the Eastern United States. Woody has been in South Florida for twenty-five years and is well known for his instrumental and arranging skills, contributing to six CD projects (the Skip Haynes Black Tie Band: Mileposts and Skip Haynes: Unplugged, Skyline Elementary School, The Uptown Express and two projects for singer Kathryn Taubert) as well as having been musical director for Peace River Productions, a theater group, in Port Charlotte. He is also director and arranger for the aforementioned jazz award nominee Kathryn Taubert. He has also performed in southwest Florida with the Freestyle Band, The Jet Set, The Harry Hellings Quartet, The Skip Haynes Black Tie Band and as a contract musician with The Jordan Ross Agency and the Jack Rinaldi Agency. Woody has also accompanied many vocalists and instrumentalists in S.W Florida.
